ERV travel restrictions in relation to trips to Ukraine,
Russia and Belarus

ERV Evropská limited possibilities to assist clients in need in the territory of Russia or Belarus

The ongoing military invasion of the Russia army in Ukraine and the related international sanctions significantly disrupt the validity of our travel insuranceand our ability to help clients who have health or other issues in the territory of these states.

Russia and Belarus on War Areas List

As of March 1, 2022, both Russia and Belarus are on the list of our War Areas as high security risk destinations. Russia is the conflict initiator, while Belarus has allowed Russian troops to attack Ukraine from its territory, becoming a party to the conflict. We also consider Ukraine a war zone since February 13, 2022.

On Sunday, February 27, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic issued a strong warning against travels to the territory of Russia and Belarus called on the citizens of the Czech Republic to leave both countries. We recommend that you regularly check safety information updates on both destinations on the above-mentioned website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic.

Our insurance does not apply to trips to areas that were assigned to high risk destinations list or areas the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or another state administration has banned from traveling. If you are already in Russia or Belarus and you traveled there before outburst of the conflict, our insurance is valid until March 13, 2022 only. In case of necessary business trips, contact our corporate sales department.

Airspace closure

The airspace of the whole Europe and several other countries is closed to aircrafts heading to or from Russia. A similar measure may soon be applied for Belarus too. The airspace closure makes almost impossible to repatriate injured clients (including special air ambulance) back to Czechia. We will strive to keep the highest quality of  travel insurance services, but our possibilities are very limited in Russia and Belarus.

Payment restrictions

Under the latest sanctions imposed on Russia, bank transfer payments to some banks' accounts are limited. This also applies to payment guarantees and payments for medical treatments in local medical facilities. We will deal with each case individually, but more often there may be situations where you have to pay for your treatment locally and then have everything reimbursed as part of the damage report.
