Yes. Serious damage to your residence, which occurred less than 30 days before departure, is one of the reasons for cancellation insurance (for insurance sold in a travel agency or the Storno Plus variant). In addition to the insurance conditions, we have also decided to accept cancellation in cases where the residence of family members, e.g. parents, children or siblings, is damaged.

Some of the credit card travel insurance products apply only to the medical expenses, the insurance coverage limits are not high enough and the deductible has to be paid for each insured event (up to CZK 5 000). It usually does not include trip cancellation insurance and/or other travel related risks. If you rely on credit card insurance, make sure to check its coverage.
We planned a weeklong family holiday on Mallorca. 3 days prior to the departure, my son got severe abdominal pain. We went to the hospital where the doctors confirmed accute appendicitis and he immediately had to go to a surgery. Fortunately, we had a trip cancellation insurance so we got back a large part of the price of the tour and we plan to go there later. The important thing is that my son is all right. The cancellation of the tour was easy, the money were transfered sooner than we unpacked our suitcases. We did not expect such a fast claim settlement and once again, thank you.
