Prague, 6 August 2015 – ERV Evropská has entered into two-year international cooperation with a major low-cost airline – SmartWings. Everyone who purchases an airline ticket will also be able to arrange flight cancellation insurance or comprehensive travel insurance. In addition to the Czech Republic, the ERV also cooperates with SmartWings in Italy, France, Spain, and Slovakia.
ERV Evropská’s travel insurance is fully integrated into the SmartWings booking system. This makes it easy for passengers to purchase one of three kinds of insurance when buying their airplane ticket. "We offer SmartWings clients either trip cancellation insurance or comprehensive insurance of medical expenses, personal accident, trip cancellation, and baggage for their trips through Europe or worldwide,” says Chief Sales Officer at ERV Evropská pojišťovna Ondřej Rušikvas.
The ticket sales pilot has been running in the Czech Republic and Slovakia since the middle of last year and since then, insurance worth CZK 1.8 million has been sold. “We have achieved a sales ratio of 10% during the pilot period, which is a very promising start,” says Ondřej Rušikvas. As of June 2015, companies from the ERV (Europäische Reiseversicherung) Group have been also cooperating with SmartWings, a part of the largest airline in the Czech Republic, Travel Service, in Italy, France, and in Spain. “The solution using IIIP will make it possible to gradually include other countries to which SmartWings flies. We believe that this international business will yield interesting results for the entire group of countries and that in the course of further development, we will also start cooperating with Czech Airlines, in which Travel Service holds an interest,” says Ondřej Rušikvas from ERV Evropská pojišťovna.
